What happens when you are in a fight?

I have a great interest in learning kendo but my question is this... you mentioned that one should take up another art for self-defense. Then what exactly is the point of doing a sport art in comparison to a real world art?
Answer: Simple. If you want to be good at fighting, don’t do
kendō. Simply
kendō is not for fighting. There is no point for you to learn
kendō.
If you train hard, your physical strength will, of course, increase. Your physical abilities will improve by training
kendō really hard. You can see that well-trained kendoists.
People tend to forget that what ancient
samurais like Musashi MIYAMOTO teach us through their writing. The highest point we can reach in
kenjutsu is “no fighting”.
Hope this helps.
