Length of the shinai handle

Any shinai I use, the handle feels too long to me. Are there any standards for the lenght of the shinai handle? Can I make it shorter by folding the tsukagawa? Thank you.

Answer: As far as I know as of 2018 July, there is no regulation on the tsuka length. You can make is shorter as you described.
