Kata kiai

Hello

Thank you for all the tutorials and advices you are posting on the net they really helped me progressing in my practice. I have a question that certainly sound trivial to you but I am curious and my sensei was unable to answer. When practicing the kata the kiaïs are ya and toop. Is there a meaning to these? Thank you again for what you are doing for a better understanding of kendo.
