When I am practicing kata my sword saya falls out of my hakama. Is there a way to tie the hakama so that the saya does not fall out? I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, but I am new at learning kendo.
thank you Judy Johnson
Answer: Thank you for your question. Do you have an obi on? And does your saya have kurikata to put sageo through? Sounds like the saya is not really made to wear.
Hope this helps.

Did you try asking your Sensei's advice? by: Daniel Cedilotte
I would also advise that you ask your Sensei or your senpai. My take on it is this: as long as it looks neat, you'll be fine. In Kendo everything has to be neat. It applies to your gi and hakama, you (the way you hold yourself in the dojo), your cuts, your zanshin, your footwork, etc.
Kendo-Guide.Com: Thank you for your comment. Asking own sensei is the first thing to do, isn't it? You have to be neat and correct as well. So must ask own sensei :)
Kendo is fun! Kendo is enjoyable! Adults beginners and late starters of kendo have hard time to understand that. If you are one of them, I want to help you with learning kendo and share the enjoyment and joy of kendo! Click here to know about me and Kendo-Guide.Com.
