How to prevent bogu odour?

I'm about to buy my first set of bogu and I'm quite worried about the odour since some seniors have really smelly bogu.
I have heard all sorts of advices, such as rubbing isopropyl alcohol, airing, using certain deodorants, even tea leaves and I have no idea which one would work.
What would be the most effective way to prevent odour in your opinion? Thank you.
Answer: Thank you for your question. As a smelly, no, traditional kendoist, I don't really use anything. But this may give you some ideas;
Bye bye Kote Smell.
