floor space for home dojo

For a home dojo, for where I and my instructor can train and practice, how much floor space would be needed to safely train and practice? Thank you.

Answer: Thanks for your question! If you want to spare with your teacher, 5m x 5m should be enough. If you want an official match space (shiai-jō), you need at least 9m x 9m. The maximum is 11m x 11m. Of course, the ceiling should be high enough for you to swing your sword.

Now I didn’t measure for sure so please consider this info as a reference. You have a teacher, so your teacher should know how much space you and him/her need.
